'A Modern-Day Gold Rush': Bisnow's May 20-22 DICE National Conference Explores Skyrocketing Data Center Demand

Global data center capacity is projected to grow by 30% in the next two years, but that growth is still not enough to meet the ever-increasing demand. This is why it’s more important than ever for commercial real estate investors, developers and end users to stay up to speed on the sector’s latest trends and developments as they strive to meet end users’ needs.
On May 20-22, more than 1,000 CRE professionals from around the U.S. will gather in Northern Virginia, the global epicenter of data centers, to attend Bisnow’s largest event to date: the National Data Center Investment Conference and Expo event, also known as DICE.
Across three days, participants will access more than 12 hours of networking, attend discussions featuring more than 100 of the sector’s leading experts across 20+ panels and enjoy three post-event cocktails.
The topics that will be covered in the panels include:
- Trends set to shape the sector’s future
- Navigating supply chain challenges
- Building data centers to accommodate AI acceleration
- Investor interest and financing strategies
- Discussing site selection and permitting with relevant parties
And more!

At the helm of this large-scale event is Bisnow Vice President and Head of Data Centers Adam Knobloch, who brings forth approximately 15 years of experience in the data center sector and has been in charge of curating Bisnow’s regional DICE events for eight of those years.
“From a huge wave of demand driven by the impacts of the pandemic to more current demand driven by the proliferation of AI and advanced tech, there is no end in sight for data center growth,” he said. “This is a modern-day gold rush, and I can't think of a better time to provide even more value to this industry.”
Knobloch walked Bisnow through the process of creating an event of this magnitude — a combination of staying in tune with clients’ and colleagues’ perspectives to inform panel topics, incorporating his experience attending large-scale events and tapping other Bisnow departments in for additional support.
“Although our model has long been half-day and full-day programs, having the opportunity to attend many larger events over the years has prepared us to take Bisnow's classic conference model and expand it to something that is still uniquely Bisnow, but on a larger scale,” he said.
The Bisnow production team collaborated closely with leading data center experts and panelists to carefully curate content that reflects the most pressing issues and opportunities in today’s market. Each session is tailored to the speakers' expertise, offering attendees a unique opportunity to gain actionable insights into the key forces shaping the future of the data center industry.
While past DICE attendees will see the familiar elements of keynotes, panel discussions and breaks for networking, this event features a larger expo hall than what they see at single-day programs. Sponsors can connect with attendees throughout the entire program, with heightened exposure during the networking lunch, to facilitate dealmaking. Participants also have the opportunity to connect over food and games within the casual settings of three cocktail receptions and the popular casino night, held on May 22.
Knobloch said he hopes that attendees will come away from the conference having expanded their contact lists and gained invaluable information that will help inform their next deal.
“It’s important for us to make sure that our agendas align with the work that speakers do as well as their goals and passions,” he said. “The excitement and support from the industry has emboldened us to deliver on our promises that much more. Our audience will walk away from this event feeling confident that they've received unparalleled value, while building their personal networks within the sector.”
