Zayo Colocation has expanded in the Atlanta data center market with its purchase of AtlantaNAP, a managed service provider. The 72k SF data center at 1100 White St in Atlanta—which now includes 42k SF of conditioned colo space—was bought by Zayo for $52.5M, according to info filed with the SEC. The buy opens a new market for zColo (aka Zayo), and complements the company's Atlanta fiber network (not a cereal), which spans more than 600 route miles, officials state in docs.

Like many of its competitors, Zayo has been on an expansion roll through acquisitions. In March, the firm purchased CoreXchange, a colo provider in Dallas. Zayo's Greg Freidman says Atlanta was attractive because "it's a strong colo market and is a growing hub for healthcare, technology, and large enterprises."
