CorVel Building Data Center in Nevada

CorVel Corp, a workers compensation insurance provider, is trading out its redundancy from Fort Worth to Portland, while also building a new data center in Nevada. The company revealed its plans for a Tier III primary processing facility in an SEC filings last week. The Fort Worth facility is the back up for CorVel in the event of a “catastrophic loss” in Portland, company officials say. (Which sounds like the plot of a zombie movie.) “Currently, the company’s data is continually replicated to Fort Worth in near-real time, so that in the event the Portland data center is offline, the redundancy center can be activated with current information quickly.”
