Colliers Global Investor Outlook 2016 points to real estate as the safest place for your cash in 2016, as rates hikes, crashing oil prices and China’s slowdown all have equities looking ready to tank—especially the bond markets.

Schroders in London’s Christopher Wyke says, “We are entering a period of a bond bear market that I think will last the next 25 years.” Not exactly uplifting news.

But the Colliers survey puts 52% of investors increasing their cash in real estate, with only 11% taking money out of the market, Forbes reports.

Colliers expects global transactions to be back to pre-crisis levels in 2016, beyond their 2014 levels.

The hottest targets for international investors? Exactly what you would think: London, Paris, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo and Sydney round out the top six cities. [Forbes]
