Update: Provident Realty Decides Not To Develop Eighth & Drexel Site

Placeholder

Dallas-based Provident Realty Advisors has opted not to proceed with the development of an eight-story, 150k SF self-storage building at Eighth and Drexel. The Nashville Post reports the company "decided not to move forward with the transaction," without Provident elaborating on its reasons. The move puts the 0.6-acre site back on the market during a period of robust development in the area.

The project had the go-ahead from the Downtown Code Design Review Committee. The site is the former home of the Nashville Center Stage music venue and bar and an adjacent parking lot. The company hasn't commented on the status of two other sites in the Vanderbilt-West End and SoBro areas on which it had planned to develop self-storage projects. [NP]
