Cultural Venue Planned For Buchanan Street

Placeholder

Nashville entrepreneur MJ Batson has inked a deal to acquire the site at 16th and Buchanan, currently occupied by Bud's Curb Market, with plans to build a cultural venue that's being called the MAM Center for Culture, Arts and Community. MAM = Make a Mark. MJ has tapped Nashville-based Manuel Zeitlin Architects to design the roughly 30k SF venue, which will offer programs, activities and special events for people of all ages and backgrounds, according to the developer.

The project is the latest for the Buchanan Street area, which is attracting creative businesses from elsewhere in Nashville, the Tennessean reports. Others ventures include a venue for private events and music, which Derrick Moore, Clinton Gray and Emanuel Reed plan for the former car repair shop at 1508-1510 Buchanan. [Tennessean]
