Is northwest Dade County going to see the development of the country's largest mall? Plans by developer Triple Five (which also owns Mall of America) for American Dream Miami came a step closer when the state agreed this week to sell 82 acres to the county, which is part of the necessary acreage. The county then would sell it to the developer for the same price. The property would be large enough to have its own indoor ski slope and sea lion habitat, among other things, reports the Miami Herald. Other area mall owners aren't happy about the prospect of such a property, and there might be challenges to the sale. [MH]
