Law firms, accounting firms, insurance agencies, and other professional services are driving demand as they act on their expansion plans for the new year, especially in Downtown and Brickell. Taylor & Mathis oversaw 322k SF of new leases, 276k SF of renewals, and over 92k SF of expansions in ’13, including Akerman Senterfitt’s 40k SF lease and Morgan Stanley’s 30k SF renewal at Phillips Point in West Palm Beach. This week, the company took home five TOBYs (should we ask for their acceptance speech?), including one for 355 Alhambra in Coral Gables (pictured), in the 100k to 250k SF category.
