Possible Added Delay For Sunset Strip Project

The Chase Bank building on Sunset Boulevard was granted Historic Cultural landmark status by the LA City Council on Tuesday by unanimous vote.

Townscape Partners had plans to demolish the bank at 8150 Sunset Blvd as part of the Sunset Strip Project.

The building could still be torn down since the vote was more of a recommendation, The Real Deal reports.

Townscape has 180 days to re-evaluate its plans. The city council approved the project last month.

The LA Conservancy recently filed a lawsuit against the City of LA.

The lawsuit claims LA violated the California Environmental Quality Act by approving the project without forcing the developer to incorporate the bank in the project.
