Industrial Has a New Look: Office, Distribution, Amenities

Placeholder

Unire Real Estate Group director of client services Griffin Cogorno says office and industrial tenants don’t just want plain old cubicle space anymore—they want multi-functional digs with distribution and amenities added on.

Unire just leased a 200k SF redevelopment near LA to two tenants—and Griffin says they both were lured in by the amenities, collaborative office layout and more dock doors for ease of distribution.

Unite plans to continue redeveloping properties for better functionality through 2016, GlobeSt.com reports.

Griffin says vacancies are at record lows in all of SoCal, as “Long Beach and Los Angeles feed the largest industrial base in the world at almost 2B SF.”

Tenants’ fire for more creative office space explains the epic rise of co-working spaces like WeWork over the past year. [GS]
