Rexford Industrial scored a 165K SF lease valued at nearly $30M for a Garden Grove, California, property that will be a manufacturing and distribution facility for Harbinger Motors, a maker of EV delivery vehicles.

Colliers announced the lease at 12821 Knott St. and represented the landlord. Rexford bought the building in 2019 and improved it with a 45K SF bay expansion area and 20K SF of office space.

The tenant, Harbinger Motors, is a Los Angeles-based maker of commercial vehicles, namely the light- and medium-duty vehicles that a UPS or FedEx delivery driver might operate.

Colliers’ industrial team of Clyde Stauff and Jace Gan represented the landlord in the transaction. Harbinger will employ more than 160 people in technical, design and engineering jobs at the facility, Stauff said. Harbinger's lease is for an 88-month term, Colliers said.

Orange County is home to other electric vehicle makers including Rivian, which cut more than 200 jobs earlier this year at sites in Tustin, Irvine and Costa Mesa. Irvine-based Rivian is also opening a showroom this year at a former movie theater in Laguna Beach, the Register reported in June
