LA guests of Airbnb can expect some changes the next time they grab a rental here.

Under a new three-year deal, Airbnb will start paying lodging taxes to the city. Guests will have to start paying up beginning Aug. 1.

The deal could bring nearly $6M to city coffers, according to the LA Daily News.

Those who stay in hotels when they visit LA already pay the fee.

LA’s lodging tax is now 14% of the nightly rate.

Local Airbnb hosts were told of the change Monday. [LADN]
