Jan Pope’s fast-paced world of corporate real estate leads her team of 1,200 employees to projects like helping a telecommunications client roll out 6,000 new projects in a mere six weeks. It’s just one of her 25 Fortune 500 clients encompassing 100M SF in JLL’s corporate solutions region from Denver west. There, she heads facilities, project management, lease administration, transactions and other real estate tasks for these customers. Jan didn’t start in real estate; she was recruited by then-boutique LaSalle Partners from the 330,000-employee IBM to learn about real estate in 1990. She started in LA as a tenant rep, moved to Northern California for 10 years to launch offices and manage clients there, and then returned to LA six years ago. Real estate’s a great industry for women and people of color, she says. “I’d love to see more diversity… there are plenty of different angles and ways to grow your career.” She and husband Tom Frick have a new Maltese named Enzo (above), and the outdoors enthusiast loves golfing, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and other coastal activities.
