John Lewis Advances Omnichannel Strategy With Magna 3 Facility

Placeholder

John Lewis, the quintessential British department store, opened two new distribution facilities at its Milton Keynes campus. Magna Park 2 and Magna Park 3 will function alongside Magna Park 1, the £100M facility John Lewis opened in 2009, according to Parcel & Post.

The new facility will provide the foundation for the company’s ominchannel strategy. State-of-the-art technology will speed up the time stock gets to packers, and will make it possible to combine online orders for hanging and flat fashion and non-fashion items in one parcel (for example, a dress and an iPad.) The new efficiency will result in 850,000 fewer packages sent every year, and its drivers will cover 190,000 fewer miles. [P&P]
