Global broker Cushman & Wakefield is changing the way its office network will operate in the UK, one of its largest markets outside the U.S., as the shifts in the way companies work start to infiltrate the real estate world.

Cushman is moving to a “hub and gateway” model in the UK, with regional hubs supported by access point offices in other cities where it has a presence, React News reported.

Its main regional hubs will be locations for team meetings and collaboration, while its gateway offices will be used to meet clients in those markets or organise property viewings.

The changes will start to be implemented once lockdown restrictions in the UK allow something approaching a return to normal working practices.

“Our gateway offices complement the hubs and serve a slightly different but important function in our workplace ecosystem,” Cushman Head of UK and Ireland George Roberts said. “We are committed to all the markets in which we currently have an office and will be continuing to support clients in every location.”

Cushman will have two offices in London, in the West and City, which will serve as hubs for London and the South East; Bristol will be the hub for the south west and south Wales; Leeds will be the hub for the north east; Edinburgh will be the hub for Scotland; and Birmingham and Manchester will serve those respective cities.

Glasgow, the Thames Valley and Newcastle will become gateway offices. The gateway offices will stay in their current locations, although this could change over time, React said.
