Direct Connect Logistix, a national transportation and logistics firm, has opened its new corporate headquarters at the Cosmopolitan on the Canal at 314 West Michigan St. in Indianapolis. The facility will allow the company to nearly double its HQ employee numbers.

According to DCL President Greg Humrichouser, the Downtown expansion was important in attracting more qualified workers.

The company is investing more than $2M in its new digs in 14K SF on the first floor of the building. The space is open plan, with a mural of the city as its focal point, and about 170 workstations, Area Development reports.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered DCL up to $630K in tax credits and as much as $40K in training grants, based on the logistics company's job creation plans.

The incentives are conditional on DCL actually following through in hiring Indiana residents.

DCL plans to create 90 high-wage positions at its new HQ by 2020. It has already added 26 jobs in operations, account management, IT and other areas.
