The Downtown Aquarium is set to expand and add more amusements to the complex by the end of 2017.

Houston-based Landry’s Inc plans to expand the site to an adjacent half-acre lot across Preston Street, the Houston Business Journal reports. The company had previously redeveloped the Central Waterworks Building and Fire Station No. 1 into a profitable, six-acre complex that houses the aquarium and restaurant with rides and amusements. Expansion plans call for more amusements, a move that should increase business at the popular destination.

Landry’s certainly has plenty to keep them busy in the area at the moment. Just last week, concrete was poured for The Post Oak, the massive mixed-use development from Landry’s CEO Tillman Fertitta[HBJ]
