Meet Megan Tegethoff: Texas' Youngest Architect

Placeholder

Kirksey’s Megan Tegethoff passed all seven of her exams and received licensure last month at only 24 years old. Megan started as an intern at Kirksey in 2013 while studying at the University of Houston’s Hines College of Architecture. She graduated as salutatorian of her class last year, and had already racked up enough hours to begin testing that August. Her secret: School had prepared her to work long hours and have little freedom, so she stuck it out through licensure. She studied two hours before work and two hours after each day, and took one exam every four Fridays. (Kirksey covered the costs of study materials, exams and licensing fees.) Now that she’s a full-fledged architect, she’s specializing in office and hotel design. With her new-found free time, Megan’s working out again, going to movies, crocheting and taking trips with her family.
