Technology Company Leases Over 100K SF In Westchase
A Houston-based benefits technology company is staying put in the Westchase District.
Empyrean Benefit Solutions Inc. signed a 108K SF office lease at 3010 Briarpark Drive, Houston. In 2017, the company inked a short-term sublease in the nine-story building.
"Empyrean had a relocation requirement to manage its constant year-over-year growth,” Newmark Knight Frank Director David Husid said in a release. “The company wanted to expand the operational office vision and presentation to better serve both employees and visiting clients.”
NKF represented Empyrean in a search to find the new headquarters in Houston. After evaluating the company's culture and logistics, the firm opted to remain in place for long-term renewal.
“Empyrean is working with designers and architects to create a modern and collaborative environment that reflects our company’s culture and enables our teams to deliver the market-leading products and award-winning service that has led to Empyrean’s 97% client retention,” Empyrean co-founder and CEO Richard Wolfe said.
The Empyrean lease represents roughly 55% of the current Class A leasing activity in the Westchase submarket for Q2 2019, according to NKF. Other tenants that have signed leases in Westchase this year include Honeywell and Bill.com.
