Law Firm Moves Two Blocks for Efficiency

Blank Rome isn't going far--relocating from 700 Louisiana to 717 Texas in February. (Instead of a mover, it just needs folks with good arms.) Savills Studley senior managing director Kevin Hodges (pictured with son Russell and their wives) repped the law firm, which is moving to 27k SF on the 14th floor. That’s an expansion of 6k SF, but the building's high efficiency masks how big the growth is—the firm is going from 20 to 45 attorney offices. (Kevin says it would’ve had to lease more than 30k SF in BOA.)

Blank Rome acquired Bell Ryniker & Letourneau last year and was cramped in the Bank of America building. But it loved Northwest Downtown and didn't want to move far. Besides more offices, the firm's also getting seven times the number of parking spaces (now every employee gets one). Kevin’s colleague Ed Bowerman is managing Blank Rome’s build-out; Colvill’s Michael Anderson repped the landlord in the lease.
