The Monroe Is A No-Go

Plans for The Monroe, a luxury condo building near the Buffalo Bayou, have been scrapped. Al Ross Luxury Homes, which has focused on building multimillion-dollar homes in River Oaks, had planned to erect its first multifamily project in 2015 and open the building this December.

But the mid-rise condo will not happen because the City of Houston would not issue the proper building permits unless the developer replaced a sewer line in front of the site, according to the Houston Business Journal.

The Monroe was projected to have 10 condo units ranging from 3.4k SF to a 7k SF penthouse. Prices started at $1.4M. [HBJ]
