Dubai, Brazil, India, Spain, Vegas, Dallas and now Houston. Crystal Lagoon CEO Uri Man (above) is in serious discussions with five Houston and Galveston area developers to start a project in Houston. Several (undisclosed) developers have taken exploratory trips to see a completed lagoon in Cabo San Lucas. With a project underway in Dallas and one in the works in Houston, Crystal Lagoon is looking to open an office in Texas later this year, reports the Houston Business Journal.

The beautiful blue water is kept that way by a proprietary technology used to clean and maintain it remotely. The massive self-cleaning man-made lakes average three to 10 acres, offering plenty of room for paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing and jet skis. Uri says his lagoons use less water and are cheaper to operate than similarly sized golf courses. That's why Steve Wynn announced he would be replacing the golf courses at Wynn Resorts in Vegas with a 38-acre lagoon[HBJ]
