Ridge, the industrial development arm of Transwestern Development Co., has acquired 29 acres at the corner of Beltway 8 and Highway 90 in southwest Houston. In May, ground will be broken on a 477K SF speculative industrial project, Southwest Commerce Center, expected to deliver in early 2019. Transwestern is leasing the project.

Located at 611 South Cravens Road in Missouri City, the cross-dock project will have a 32-foot clear height, 129 dock doors, 58 trailer parking spaces and 275 car parking spaces.

The site is near major logistics and retail tenants, including FedEx’s new 300K SF facility and Best Buy’s recently announced 550K SF logistics facility.

“Strategically located along Beltway 8, Southwest Commerce Center is a state-of-the-art distribution building ideal for large regional users,” Transwestern Senior Vice President Darryl Noon said. “Houston’s industrial market remains one of the healthiest in the country, fueled by strong population growth and increased port activity.”
