Houston Named One Of The World's Most 'Future-Ready' Cities

Houston's ready for whatever comes, according to the Dell Future Ready Economies Model, which was released last night. Tech experts from Dell and Microsoft ranked Houston 19th of 50 world cities.

Dell looked at three major dimensions: human capital, infrastructure and commerce. Dell commissioned IHS Economics to find proxy indicators that define those characteristics, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The rankings revealed no definitive formula for achieving future readiness, though education figured prominently. The top four cities (San Jose, San Francisco, Singapore, London) overall also had the four highest percentages of undergraduate and graduate school degrees. Texas is well-positioned for the future, with all four of its largest cities making the list. [Chron]
