Study Finds Houston Traffic Is Only Getting Worse

Placeholder

Houstonians wasted on average 74 hours in traffic during 2015, a 12-hour increase from the year before, according to a recent study by traffic analyst INIX. Things could be worse. Houston is only the fourth-worst in the US, behind San Francisco, DC and Los Angeles.

The report mentions specific problem areas that Houstonians know all too well:
● 59 from Lorraine Street to Texas 288.
● I-45 from Texas 5 Spur to Gulf Bank Road.
● 610 from Evergreen Street to West 11th Street.
● 290 from Antoine Drive to North Eldridge Parkway

What’s being done to combat the problem? TXDOT recently announced a $447M investment toward relieving traffic around three of the city's major problem areas, proposing elevated lanes in some of the most congested areas of 610. Of course, that won't help with traffic caused by marriage proposals and naked dancing women
