How Companies Gave Back Over The Holidays

Many commercial real estate companies celebrate the holidays by helping out those less fortunate. We rounded up a few.

The Weitzman Group/Cencor's local office volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, preparing 8,038 meals.

Moody Rambin also volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, spending half the day at the main warehouse inspecting, sorting and repackaging donated items.

JE Dunn joined 800 other volunteers to build 10,000 bikes for CYCLE (formerly Elves & More) at NRG Center. CYCLE is a children's charity that rewards students with new bicycles for achieving better academic performance. To date, it's awarded more than 144,000 bikes. Houston Center, managed by CBRE, held a toy drive benefiting BEAResource for CPS Kids. Tenants shopped for nearly 700 children based on their wish lists, exceeding last year's donations.

Hartman Income REIT Management contributed $7,400 to 15 families and 45 children through its Hartman Helps program. The program nominates worthy families and local charities and organizes a raffle to raise funds for those selected. This season, they donated to Katy Christian Ministries, Angel Tree, and victims of the fire at Palms of Westheimer apartments.
