Online retailer Amazon has made an offer to lease the entire 200K SF of office space being developed by the McGarrell Reilly Group.

If an agreement is reached, it would allow Amazon to significantly increase its workforce in Dublin, the Irish Independent reports. It already employs more than 1,400 workers.

Though both parties declined to comment on the offer, news of the potential lease will offer a clear indication of the company’s intent in relation to the future of its Irish operations.

Amazon leased the entire 172K SF of office space at the Vertium Building on Burlington Road in a pre-let agreement with U+I. The deal was struck in 2016 before it was fully completed by developer Johnny Ronan's Ronan Group Real Estate.

McGarrell Reilly's development of the offices on Charlemont Street is part of the Charlemont Street Regeneration Project, which is a wider €85M mixed-use scheme in partnership with Dublin City Council which will include social housing and private residential units.
