Luxury Senior Housing High-Rise Tops Out

Ventana by Buckner, a luxury high-rise emblematic of the latest trends in senior housing, is topping out this week.

The $136M, 189-unit continuing care retirement community in North Dallas is reaching its highest point — 12 stories for both towers in the project — Friday. Developed by Buckner Retirement Services, Ventana by Buckner is part of a shift to senior living projects that are taller, more luxurious and more urban than the last generation of senior housing. With three restaurants on-site, it represents a new focus on food and other amenities.

Ventana by Buckner will open in 2019. It was designed by D2 Architecture and built by Whiting-Turner.

Buckner Retirement Services just opened the expansion of Buckner Villas community in Austin last week.
