It isn't the market developer Sam Moon Group expected to open in when the firm broke ground on the project last year, but the 18-story hotel with 27K SF for meetings and conferences is braving the new world of hospitality.

The Dallas-Fort Worth hotel market alone watched occupancy rates plummet to the 20% range in a matter of weeks, and revenue per available room dropped 75% year-over-year, according to recent estimates from the local hotel industry.

The Hyatt Regency's general manager, Lance Stumpf, said business conferences and meeting activities will be available after the June 1 opening. The hotel is ready for all normal hospitality activities and has incorporated all recommended Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and is ready when guests and businesses are comfortable again.

"Hyatt Regency Frisco - Dallas is ready when our guests start meeting again," Stumpf said in a statement to Bisnow.

"Our guests' and associates' health and safety is our main concern and the Hyatt Regency Frisco - Dallas will be following the guidelines that are suggested through the Hyatt Global Care and Cleanliness commitment for meetings and events. This will include, but not [be] limited to, hand sanitizing stations, following social distancing guidelines and the implementation of enhanced food safety for meetings and events. Hyatt Regency Frisco is dedicated to the wellbeing of our guests whether visiting for business or leisure."

The luxury hotel designed by HKS is attached to Stonebriar Centre and offers a large ballroom along with junior ballrooms, a lobby bar, two restaurants and access to a Frisco Public Library along with all attractions inside Stonebriar Centre.
