UT Dallas Picks Up 151K SF Vacant Office Building: The DFW Deal Sheet
A major Dallas university just grabbed a 31-year-old vacant office building steps from its main campus to help meet its expansion needs.
The University of Texas at Dallas purchased the more than 151K SF space in order to expand its infrastructure to keep up with the school’s growing enrollment.
The five-story building is on more than 5 acres at 17787 Waterview Parkway in Dallas.
“This Waterview property will help support additional university academic and operational needs,” Avison Young Senior Vice President Bruce Butler said in a statement. “UT Dallas intends to occupy the entire property after necessary modifications are completed.”
Built in 1994, the property features large floor plates and 477 parking spaces. It is located near State Highway 190 to the north and Highway 75 to the east.
Avison Young’s Butler, Susan Gwin Burks and John Bowles represented the seller, CFT NV Developments, the property business of the family that owns the Panda Express restaurant chain. The buyer was the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System.
