Don't Call it GVA Cawley
In a Bisnow exclusive, we'd like to be the first to let you know that GVA Cawley is now CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners. We were given the news soon after the announcement was made yesterday afternoon to the staff. We'll pause while you find any notes you have on GVA letterhead: It's now a collector's item.

Case senior director Malcolm Ross with principals John Conger and Tom Sutherland
We snapped Case senior director Malcolm Ross  with principals John Conger and Tom Sutherland at the announcement party. John and Tom bought the firm in 2008 from Bill Cawley and opted to rebrand as Case, short for Conger and Sutherland Enterprises. (Remember the whole GVA-FirstService-Colliers shakeout in the national marketplace?) Tom says the firm has been growing aggressively, adding about 10 new people in the past 30 days across offices in Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. John says Case plans to “offer greater levels of boutique services across Texas” with plans to open a Houston  office within six months.
Case's Buddy Tompkins, Stephanie Thompson, John Grace and Seth Thatcher
Case's Buddy TompkinsStephanie ThompsonJohn Grace, and Seth Thatcher  all work as leasing agents on the landlords side. Buddy says he likes the new red triangle logo  for Case, designed to illustrate the high-growth area between Dallas, San Antonio/Austin, and Houston. A little bird (or maybe it was a CRE broker) tells us that we were among greatness: John pitched the first and only perfect game  in TCU history. (Now that the Rangers have an owner, they can probably afford his services.)
Mike Pierre with Lisa Donovan
Mike Pierre, here with Lisa Donovan, says he's marketing space in the CBD, North Dallas, and in Preston Center. He tells us the market's picking up and transactions are getting larger. Lisa says Case manages and/or has leasing assignments across 5M SF of commercial space of primarily office space, with some retail and warehouse properties mixed in. Under the rebranding, the firm will now be more focused on third-party clients, she adds. Other leaders tell us that the company has a solid structure, which bears Bill Cawley's footprint. “We want to take that great tradition and enhance it in our own way to become an even more dominant force in Texas commercial real estate,” John Conger says.
Investment Sales managing director Joe Garrett and San Antonio managing director Stephen Hall.
Joe Garrett, who came over from Colliers in the past few weeks and will head up the investment sales division, and San Antonio managing director Stephen Hall. A few months back, the San Antonio office inked the largest lease in the past few years in the region with Kohl's 102k SF operations and call center. Stephen is known for having had primary leasing responsibility for the 72-story Bank of America Plaza in downtown Dallas.
