BACK TO SCHOOL
John Iannuzzo
Campus Living Villages three Houston-area student housing assets are 100% leased for the spring, marketing VP John Iannuzzo tells us. It's odd, he says, because spring traditionally brings a 2% to 3% decline. (We assume that's because everyone is studying and sleeping in the library, foregoing housing.) CLV?s portfolio-wideoccupancy is 95%, its highest ever for this season. The recession may be to thank, as people tend to go back to school. And John says most of its properties are on-campus and don't do rental concessions. Campus Living is instead giving away iPads and gift certificates to drive leasing. It opened Centennial Court on the UTA campus in Arlington in 1993. The two-phase project has 1,400 units.
