Zillow Urges Buyers To Benefit From High Valuations In Dallas-Fort Worth

Placeholder

You should buy a home in DFW now...if you can find one to buy. Homes in the metro are holding onto their value more than they have in previous years, and more than most of the rest of the country, Zillow chief economist Svenja Gudell told the Dallas Business Journal.

Dallas-Fort Worth has the second-highest home value appreciation in the country, at 15.2%. Low housing inventory has sparked bidding wars, driving up prices.

Despite the housing shortage, houses are generally affordable, and their value is expected to continue to appreciate. Svenja said that most homeowners are breaking even on their investment in two years, but in Dallas-Fort Worth, home owners can expect to hit that ratio in 1.2 years. [DBJ]
