Chicago’s Future as a Health Tech Hub

The healthcare technology industry is booming, and Chicago could become one of the cities at its center. Chicago's healthcare industry seems to lag behind cities like Boston, Houston and Philadelphia, but some health policy experts believe it's poised to catch up. We already have some of the nation's top medical schools and residencies, Forbes reports, not to mention the HQ of the American Medical Association, the American Hospital Association, the American Alzheimer's Association, the American Heart Association and the suburban HQ for Walgreens. Chicago also boasts one of the highest numbers of medical residents and fellows per capita. Pair them with our growing technology accelerator communities at 1871 and MATTER, which is devoted to health tech, and the city's way forward in the industry seems inevitable. [Forbes
