Where Your Bottle's Never Empty

Yesterday’s “Where Am I?” photo was taken at the Empty Bottle, and contest winner Will Crowden, VP at Baum Realty Group, knows the place well. He’s played there with his band Vintage Blue, which is releasing its second record in early April and just had a music video release party for “No Going Back” at the Double Door last Friday. “I remember being pretty creeped out by the rubber baby face collage,” he laughs. He’s snapped above on drums at a recent House of Blues gig. When Will’s not on stage, he’s hanging with his better half and five-year-old twin stepchildren.

At the office, he’s been working with Baum principal Allen Joffe on the roll-out of Blaze Pizza in the Chicago market. The concept: “build your own” assembly line pizza. (Don’t judge if we take all the pineapple.) The first location just opened at 953 W Belmont in Lakeview, and another is on the way in the former Qdoba space at 227 E Ontario in Streeterville, Will says. We have to give honorable mention to Pircher, Nichols & Meeks’ David Presser, whose descriptive contest answer specified that the baby face collage is “about halfway between the western wall and the stage, on the south interior wall” of the Empty Bottle.
