Funky Design Fun Fact

Chicago Other

Remember last week when we brought you some funky Chicago building designs? One was 632 N Dearborn in River North, currently Castle Chicago nightclub. A broker who prefers to remain nameless sent us a fun fact: The spooky building used to be home to IIT’s Institute of Design in the ‘40s and ’50s, and the broker’s dad attended school there. While he was courting his future wife, they went to a party in the building and amidst the revelry, had some fun sliding down the banisters of the main stairway. “It’s just funny because my parents are not exactly the banister-sliding type,” our source laughs.
