CRE At Lollapalooza

Chicago Other

In the midst of the hot sun, mud, and rockin’ acts at Lollapalooza, our eyes fell on this view of Lakeshore East, which will soon look very different. Straight ahead is where Chinese company The Wanda Group is planning the city’s third tallest building, a $900M project rumored to be designed by Jeanne Gang. The 89-floor tower will include a 240-room luxury hotel as well as multifamily and commercial space. Wanda’s website says construction will start this year (with completion slated for 2018), and shows the firm recently met with Illinois government officials in its Beijing office. Our Lollapalooza highlights were all Saturday evening: The Head and the Heart, Outkast, and a Lucius aftershow at Lincoln Hall. What were your favorite acts? marissa.oberlander@bisnow.com
