Meet Savills Studley dynamic family duo Greg Gerber, EVP, and his son, Jack, associate director. Greg loves seeing his son every day (their offices are five steps apart), celebrating the joys and sorrows of the tenant rep game, and mentoring him, a cool opportunity not many get to enjoy. It's difficult to leave work at work, though, and the same stuff that drove the pair crazy about one another back in the day hasn’t gone anywhere, he jokes. (Our dad still tells us we weren't aggressive enough on the base path in Little League.) He's always proud to hear Jack articulate unique insights to clients and prospects, pulling from his former life as a teacher.

Jack (circa 1985, above) didn’t know what he wanted to do growing up, though he definitely didn’t want to wear a suit. But after learning about the creativity and strategic awareness in real estate from his dad, he was hooked. (Plus a well-tailored suit is a lot cooler than you think.) The deals weren’t cookie cutter: “They had hair on them” and presented interesting challenges, he says. He tries to emulate his dad’s grit and work ethic in the office and out, and the pair has done triathlons together and now trains for road bike racing. Greg’s planning on riding in the French Alps during the Tour De France, and Jack has a handful of triathlons on the calendar. At the office, they recently worked on deals with the Unum Group in Austin, Texas, as well as Aon in Chicago.
