New 38-Story Multifamily Project Planned Near K2

Fulton Market will get another apartment tower, under a plan proposed by a California developer. Gray Cardiff wants to build a 38-story, 373-unit multifamily project at Hubbard Cave, near the Kennedy expressway and just south of Fifield Cos' K2 tower.

Cardiff, who publishes a stock market newsletter called Sound Advice, has owned the property since 1999. His plans, which will be unveiled to the public at a Nov. 3 meeting, would be one of the largest developments subject to the city's changes to the affordable requirements ordinance that took effect this month, according to Crain's. This means Cardiff must set aside 10% of his units for affordable housing, or pay into an affordable housing fund established by the city.

Cardiff's plan also calls for 158 parking spots. [Crain's]
