Major Mixed-Use Development Coming to Wicker Park

Placeholder

Centrum Partners wants to remake Wicker Park Commons into a modern mixed-use development. The group submitted proposals to build 275 apartments and add restaurants and storefronts along Milwaukee Avenue and Division Street, all connected by an S-shaped pedestrian walkway. So far, the Wicker Park Committee's Preservation and Development committee likes what Centrum's got planned. Chairman Ed Tamminga says it would be an asset to the neighborhood, while member Grant Drutchas called Centrum's plan "ambitious." Centrum recently sold the retail portion of the 315k SF development so it can focus on this project. [DNA]
