Amazon Leasing 767k SF Romeoville Warehouse

Amazon is leasing this industrial building at 1125 Remington Boulevard in Romeoville, IL.

If you own a large warehouse along I-55, chances are Amazon will come calling about its availability. The e-commerce giant continues to expand its footprint along I-55 with a lease for a Romeoville facility it plans to use as an order fulfillment center.

Amazon will begin operations at the 767k SF building at 1125 Remington Blvd in October, according to Crain's. It already has a warehouse in Joliet that employs 2,000 workers and is building another one in the suburbs that will add another 1,500 workers.

Amazon has identified I-55 as its main artery into Chicago. In addition to the Joliet and Romeoville facilities, the company leased a 150k SF distribution center in the Heart of Italy neighborhood last fall, and opened a Prime Now hub on Goose Island. [Crain's]
