Oxford Capital Looks Outside Downtown For Next Hotel Project

Oxford Capital Group's 13th Chicago hotel project has the all-important lucky location to succeed. An Oxford affiliate purchased the 133-key Days Inn Chicago in Lakeview and plans to redevelop it into an upscale boutique hotel.

The hotel at 644 West Diversey Pkwy puts it within reasonable distance from Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park, the lakefront and access to downtown via public transit. It's a bustling retail corridor, with The Century shopping center just around the corner on Clark Street. And it's also a dense residential neighborhood with access to local hospitals.

Oxford CEO John Rutledge says Oxford Hotels & Resorts already assumed management of the hotel, Crain's reports. The group plans to convert the Days Inn into "an Oxford-led lifestyle hotel." [Crain's]
