The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors has announced its new 2023 executive board officers.

SIOR Chicago Chapter board members include Newmark's Sergio Chapa, Cushman & Wakefield's Sean Henrick, CBRE's Sam Badger, Bespoke CRE's Peter Billmeyer, Lee & Associates' John Cassidy and Versa Real Estate Services' Ryan Moen.

New members include:

— Peter Billmeyer, managing principal of Bespoke CRE, president.

— John Cassidy, principal at Lee & Associates, vice president.

— Sergio Chapa, senior managing director at Newmark, treasurer.

— Sean Henrick, executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, secretary.

— Ryan Moen, principal and co-founder at Versa Real Estate Services, director-at-large.

— Sam Badger, senior managing director at CBRE, immediate past president.

SIOR Chicago Chapter members also took on regional and global roles, including Merit Partners Managing Broker David Liebman, who was named Great Lakes regional director, and Nugent Curtis Real Estate principal Christopher Curtis, who was named the organization's global grant and scholarship member.

The chapter also awarded the 2022 Richard G. Levy Presidents Award to George Cibula, chairman and CEO of DarwinPW Realty. 

PEOPLE

Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP hired LaVon M. Johns as a new partner in its business transactions practice. She is experienced in advising clients on CRE and financial transactions such as acquisitions, leasing, dispositions and public-private partnerships.

Mike Rourke was promoted from associate to managing broker at @properties Commercial. Rourke has more than 35 years of CRE experience and spent the last 12 years at @properties.

DarwinPW Realty/CORFAC International announced that T.J. Feeney joined its team as an associate. He will focus on ownership, tenant and buyer representation, and investment analysis focused on DuPage County.

Skender announced the appointment of four new shareholders and five promotions.

The new shareholders are Brian Kane and Alex Panici, who were also both promoted to vice president from project executive; Field Operations Manager Dan Stefka; and Safety Director Dan Torres.

Additional Skender promotions include:

— Lauren Bauer, promoted to senior project manager from project manager.

— Taylor Betthauser, promoted to project manager from project engineer.

— Ben Miltzow, promoted to director of self-perform, carpentry, from manager.

5920 North Ridge Ave.

Kiser Group closed the $9.2M sale of The Mabel Exchange, a 52-unit mixed-use property at 5920 North Ridge Ave. in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood. Directors Andy Friedman and Jake Parker, along with principal and Managing Broker Lee Kiser, represented both the buyer and the seller in the deal.

Entre Commercial Realty completed the sale of a 21.5K SF office building at 420 Front St. in McHenry.

LEASES

Globetrotters Engineering Corp. renewed its 23.4K SF lease at Golub & Co.’s 300 South Wacker building in Chicago. Cushman & Wakefield Managing Director Josh Feldman represented the architectural engineering firm, and Sandy Macaluso, senior vice president of leasing at Golub, represented ownership.

Entre Commercial Realty completed the lease of a 247K SF building at 2500 Galvin Drive in Elgin for MAI Fulfillment.

CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

Principle Construction Corp. completed its third expansion in five years of the General RV Center at 14000 Automall Drive in Huntley. The expansion added 19.6K SF to the building.

Skender announced the completion of a landlord capital improvement project at 225 West Wacker Drive in Chicago. The 31-story, 651K SF building is owned by Spear Street Capital, which hired the full-service building contractor to manage three different construction projects at the building.

Levenfeld Pearlstein LLC moved its Chicago office to 120 South Riverside Plaza, effective Jan. 27.

“Our new office space in downtown Chicago fosters collaboration, innovation and system alignment — all of which will enable us to continue providing an unparalleled client experience while also growing as a firm,” Managing Partner Jeffery Hoffenberg said in a press release.

Schaumburg-based real estate investment and development company Industrial Outdoor Ventures completed 30 industrial service facility transactions in 2022 totaling nearly $330M. IOV now has nearly 80 ISF assets in 18 markets, spanning 973 acres and 2.3M SF.
