Howard Hughes Co, Riverside Investment And Development Unveil Plans For 110 North Wacker

After years of planning, the Howard Hughes Co and Riverside Investment and Development unveiled renderings for their planned 800-foot-tall skyscraper at 110 North Wacker. The building will replace the squat General Growth Properties building.

The building shares some similarities with its sister building, 150 North Riverside. Most notably, much of the one-acre site will be dedicated to greenspace and new riverwalk, according to Curbed.

The site is one of the last remaining high-profile downtown skyscraper sites, but the road to yesterday's unveiling has been rocky. In May 2015, Development Resources filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that Howard Hughes cut it out of the development by transferring ownership of the land to a Hughes subsidiary. This, Development Resources argued, would allow Howard Hughes to keep all the profits from the development. That case was settled last November. [Curbed]
