Lincoln Harris, Goldman Sachs Buy More Uptown Land

Placeholder

GSLH Charlotte Realty Holdings, a partnership of Lincoln Harris and Goldman Sachs, acquired a 0.7-acre site in Uptown for nearly $3.4M. Now the partnership owns about 10 acres at the former site of the Charlotte Observer. (Total price tag: $37.5M.) The most recent bit of land housed Reeves Sheet Metal Works, between South Mint and South Poplar.

After assembling the first two, and larger, tracts earlier this year, the new owner demolished the building that had been the newspaper HQ for about 50 years, the Charlotte Business Journal reports. A mixed-use development is planned for the site, but so far GSLH hasn't released any detailed plans. Whatever form it takes, it will be next to the planned Tryon Place project by Crescent Communities. [CBJ]
