Levine Properties Halts Work on First Ward Garage

Placeholder

Levine Properties suspended construction on a parking deck in Charlotte's First Ward, citing a funding issue with the state of North Carolina. The company started construction in the spring, and the footing and foundation work for the 1,335-space parking deck at 10th and Brevard streets is complete. But Levine Properties will not begin vertical construction until the matter is resolved, reports the Charlotte Business Journal, quoting Daniel Levine, who heads Levine Properties. That's because the firm hasn't received $4.2M from the state to provide UNC Charlotte with about 300 dedicated parking spaces in the deck. [CBJ]
