What Charlotte Has Done Right

Are there days when you're down on the market? Well, let us tell you about a little thing we call "perspective." And what we call "perspective," you may call, "comparing ourselves to Atlanta."

What Charlotte Has Done Right

Now that the i?s are dotted on the Cohn-Reznick merger, we had a talk with CohnReznick's Charlotte office managing partner Joshua Northcutt. He came from Atlanta two years ago, which he says helps him see what Charlotte is doing right. For example, the Chamber and the Regional Partnership, led respectively by Bob Morgan and Ronnie Bryant, have been very adept at helping bring in top-level companies (Chiquita, for example) to alleviate some of the market's vacancy issues. Local and state incentives add to the mix, too. All together, these efforts will help Charlotte continue to grow.

About that merger: Joshua says legacy Reznick Group brings core real estate strength to legacy JH Cohn, which will enable the new company to expand even deeper. ?Having a New York presence and a national ranking of 11 has opened doors,? he explains. Also, the company now has a deeper bench  in the construction, hospitality, and manufacturing and distribution sectors, Joshua says: ?Our office has refocused  on the Carolinas and most notably the Charlotte market, and we're winning some high-profile accounts.?
