THE PARK LOOKING SKYE-WARD
Small Brothers Charlotte recently change name of condo project to SKYE

It's the condo project formerly known as ?The Park.? The mixed-use development at Third and Caldwell streets will now be known as ?SKYE.? (No unpronounceable symbols required.) Project owner Small Brothers Charlotte recently decided to change the name of the development, presumably hoping to shed some baggage from the past. SKYE will be the city's only building to house a hotel, 67 residential condos, and rooftop restaurant. Small Brothers chose the name because the building will provide a 360-degree view of Charlotte. The new name also will help close the door on the project?s unfortunate beginnings. Initial developer Pete Verna halted construction about two years ago when the original 106-unit project went over budget at about 80% complete and lenders wouldn?t give him  any more money. Prices for SKYE condos have yet to be determined.
