While much of Historic South End has been infiltrated by sexy, retro-condo developments and crusty-chic restaurants, the local John Stephens family has been making one of Charlotte's oldest industrial districts represent what it's always stood for: hard work. We caught up with patriarch John Stephens III (right) next to son John IV, who just paid about $400k for a 12k SF building near where their company, Stephens Office Systems, has done business for 35 years.
