Charlotte developer Crosland wants, once again, to try to put in fast food at its Quail Corners shopping center, a move neighbors have fought for almost 30 years. The 114k SF center is anchored by such tenants as Harris Teeter and Rite Aid. Plans call for a $6M, 10k SF expansion that would include a freestanding restaurant with drive-thru. Local residents don't want the added traffic and dislike the possibility it could become a teen hangout. ?We wouldn?t mind a bank,? says resident Joe Shea, who describes himself as ?80 something.? But he's doubtful Crosland will be rebuffed this time. The planning staff is recommending approval. A decision is expected in March.
